Meet the Maker

Hey, I’m Megan! Living in Bristol with my partner, our little rocker-in-training (aka my son), and our Boxer dog, who’s probably more punk than we’ll ever be.

Back in 2021, I gave in to the rage of seeing the same old boring kid’s clothes in shops and decided to create Babble & Bloom, a brand to break free from the usual “dinosaur vs. cars” battle. Alt Encore was a dream that was supposed to drop in 2024, but life hit me with a breakdown, and the launch was delayed to 2025. Alt Encore is where my heart screams the loudest. It’s a full-on mosh of everything I love: killer kids' clothes, band tees (I’m forever in one), upcycling, and taking old stuff to the next level, like a rebirth from the ashes.

Here’s a little bit about me—because why not, right?

🖤 30-something years old

💜 I run both Babble & Bloom and Alt Encore solo. From slinging social media posts to building websites, sourcing fabrics, cutting, sewing, merch hunting, and even packaging orders—yep, that’s all me. Oh, and I work full-time while dreaming of the day I can run this all day, every day.

🖤 I may call Bristol home for now, but my heart belongs to the Midlands (where I spent my teenage years). Before that, I lived in Norfolk and Suffolk. Can’t stay in one place for too long, apparently.

💜 Got diagnosed with ADHD in 2024, which honestly gave me some clarity about the way my brain works.

🖤 I’m basically 99% caffeine at this point. 

💜 My happy place? Download Festival. I drag my partner there every chance I get—he’s not as into the music, but he’s learning. 🤘

🖤 Therapy? Nah, I get my soul healed one tattoo at a time.
